Market days on Tamborine Mountain

Guests at Amore B&B’s Tamborine accommodation have the benefit of 2 Country Markets each month.

On the second Sunday of each month the Show Ground Markets are scheduled from early morning until around 2pm. These markets are about 7 minutes drive from your accommodation at AmoreB&B. There are arts and crafts from local talents and some stall holders travel from as far as the Sunshine Coast to offer their wares. Fruit and vegetables are either locally grown here on Tamborine Mountain, or provided directly from volcanic rich farms around the Scenic Rim.

You will usually find specialty stalls with varieties of stuffed olives, German sausage, fresh ground coffee flavours, sweet stalls, wood carvings, woven crafts, dog treats and gift items. Plant stalls include rainforest natives, fruit trees, English garden plants, and roses. Food stalls offer breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and tasty treats. For the children, a jumping castle and other activities are available. Live entertainment is offered in the central bandstand.

Directions: From your accommodation in Amore B&B, turn left to drive south along Long Road for about 4 kilometres and turn right into Lahey Drive, at the end of the road, turn left at the T junction and drive another 1.5 kilometres where you find streetside parking along Main Western Road, or drive into the market precinct where parking is available for a gold coin donation to one of our local volunteer services – recommended.

On your way back from the markets to your Tamborine accommodation at Amore B&B, make a stop at Tamborine Mountain’s hang glider take-off point. If there is a westerly wind blowing you can watch the many gliders soaring , and at various times of the year watch for a club event with up to a hundred gliders in flight. The view from here stretches all the way to the Great Dividing Range and Cunninghams Gap. You will agree that there is something magical about this place.

On the last Sunday of each month, the school-ground markets are scheduled from early morning until around 1pm. This local flea-market style event is located only 8 minutes walk from your Tamborine Mountain accommodation at Amore B&B or you can drive and fill your car with treasures. This market is slightly smaller than the Show Ground Markets, but it’s filled with localised flavours and treasures. Collectibles, clothing, food treats, breakfast, lunch and coffee are offered to visitors. Music and entertainment for children is available too. You may come upon that treasure you have been seeking for years.

If you wish to venture further into the towns, villages, hamlets and settlements of the agricultural rich Scenic Rim area you can visit a number of country markets. Country markets are scheduled at Beaudesert, Beechmont, Boonah, Jimboomba, Kooralbyn and Mount Alford on a monthly basis. For further information go to our Scenic Rim Markets Page.
